Redistricting referendum on St. Croix Co. spring ballot

St. Croix County (WQOW) -- Voters in St. Croix County will be voting on more than just candidates in April.

The St. Croix County Board passed a resolution on Tuesday to add a non-binding referendum on redistricting on the ballot. It asks if the legislature should create a non-partisan procedure for drawing voting maps.

The question posed to voters is: "Should St. Croix County request that the Wisconsin Legislature create a nonpartisan procedure for the preparation of Legislative and Congressional district plans and maps?"

If approved by voters in April, the board will send the resolution to lawmakers in Madison. The county passed a similar resolution in 2017.

The state of Wisconsin is set to redraw the voting maps in 2021.
