Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- A new multi-use event center could be coming to the Northern Wisconsin Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls.
Right now, a feasibility survey is being conducted by a consulting firm out of Minneapolis.
The fairground's executive director Rusty Volk said the survey is being sent to up to 600 regional businesses and vendors to find out what they want.
You may recall last spring the fairground's 120-year-old red barn was torn down as it appeared to be on the verge of collapse.
Now, officials are trying to determine the best way to replace it.
"I see this survey probably defining whether we're going to have a large big red coliseum again that's going to be solely agricultural-based or do we combine that with another building that's additional to it to have more of an event center for senior citizens, or for education, for youth education and agriculture," Volk said.
Volk said they'll compile the results and determine the next steps in about three weeks.
At this point, he said he's not sure of the size, scope or price of the potential project.
