Eau Claire (WQOW) - iHeartMedia, owner of six radio stations in Eau Claire, is "shifting jobs" as the company kicks off the new decade.

That includes adding some jobs and subtracting others.

News 18 has not been able to verify what impact this is having on talent and staff in Eau Claire.

iHeartMedia released the following information to News 18 on Tuesday.

We’re modernizing the company to be ready for the new decade. We’re using the hundreds of millions of dollars that we’ve invested in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) and our unique scale and position in the audio marketplace, including:

  • A new organizational structure for our Markets Group that will maximize the performance of each market using our one-of-a-kind scale and multiple platforms; leadership in audio and technology; our master brand; our expertise in consumers and monetization; and data and AI.

• Centers of Excellence around the country that consolidate areas of expertise in specific locations to deliver the highest quality products and services to our entire company.

• We are continuing to take additional important steps in improving our diversity program at iHeartMedia that ensure we have diverse voices in all our major decision-making, reflecting the composition of the audiences we serve.  Our company reaches 91% of Americans; in essence, we reach everyone.  We are working hard to make sure our decision-making reflects that diversity."
