Eau Claire (WQOW) - When it comes to focusing on learning, sometimes what seems to be the simplest choice, like where to sit, can make a difference.

This month's Tools for Schools grant from News 18, CCF Bank and Ashler Lasting Exteriors went to a fourth grade classroom at Robbins Elementary to buy a variety of new chairs.

Their teacher said it is important for young minds to be able to make choices about how they feel, and they will be able to learn best if they feel more comfortable and focused while sitting on a wobble chair or at a standing desk rather than parking on a traditional plastic one.

"They thrive on choice and you can think of things too, I mean when you need a break as an adult, we can take a break," said fourth grade teacher Jesse Kressin. "For students, especially with the structured school day, it's harder. So, with these flexible seats, just kind of allow for more movement and more choice in that way, so it allows them again to thrive in that way."
