Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- The Chippewa Falls police and fire department were competing Friday to sell the most cookies for a good cause.
Employees at Chippewa Manor Nursing and Rehab baked hundreds of cookies for the police and fire department, and by noon they were all sold out.
The police department won the Cookies for a Cause competition by raising $576 and the fire department raised $570.
Police officer Joan Mattheisen said the money they collected will go toward family room related expenses.
"It's a room that we use for interviews with sensitive crimes, so it's going to be victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, it could be runaways and it's more of a friendly room for that type of environment," Mattheisen said. "We're having a new room established."
The fire department plans to use the money they raised on smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for the community.
