Fall Creek (WQOW) - A Fall Creek educator has been named the cream of the crop in the entire country.
"I love them. I love all of them," said Joe Sanfelippo.
"Education Dive," a national publication, just named Joe Sanfelippo as "Superintendent of the Year."
Sanfelippo believes he was chosen because he celebrates his Crickets.
The superintendent regularly boasts about the accomplishments of his students and staff on social media. He says the award is not an individual recognition but a testament to the whole school district.
"I want them to feel that way that I feel when I talk about them because when I talk about them, I get teary, I get excited," said Sanfelippo. "They (staff) are doing incredible things for kids, and our kids are doing amazing things. It's just a wonderful place to be."
Sanfelippo has been an educator for 23 years and has served as the Fall Creek superintendent for nine years. He says he has no plans to leave Cricket country any time soon.
