St. Croix County (WQOW) - An animal rescue group wants your help finding the person responsible for shooting a puppy and allegedly leaving it for dead.

Lucky Paws Midwest in St. Croix County said the 12-week-old puppy named Tuff was shot in the eye and dumped in a ditch near Glenwood City in mid-November.

The director said the bullet lodged in the puppy's neck and caused brain swelling which left Tuff both blind and deaf.

Officials say this Thursday the puppy will undergo surgery to remove the bullet and repair the damage.

Now, authorities want your help identifying those responsible for shooting him.

If you have any information you are asked to contact the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office at 715-381-4320.

This is the second animal mistreatment case in western Wisconsin in the past month.

A dog named Gabriel has been receiving treatment in Dunn County since mid-November. You can read more on that case here.
