Eau Claire (WQOW) - They say it is better to give than to receive and one Christmas drive is asking you to give money or toys to children in need.

It is the 17th year Festival Foods has partnered with Sports Talk 105.1 and Greatest Hits 98.1 to bring a merry Christmas to kids across the Chippewa Valley.

From 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday they are accepting any new toys or monetary donations at Festival Foods on Mall Drive. They just ask you leave the toys unwrapped.

All of the proceeds and gifts go to Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley who then distributes the toys to those most in need this Christmas.

Organizers say the drive has grown every year with more and more people looking to give.

"You see what people bring in and it really warms your heart to see that all of this labor of trying to get this out and tell people 'hey can you help?' and people do," said Luc Anthony of Sports Talk 105.1.

The Festival Foods on Mall Drive is accepting donations in a large truck but each store in Eau Claire has a donation box inside.

Organizers say you can donate anything from big-ticket items to even just a few dollars to help the cause.
