Pair of Republicans, Democrats qualify for 7th Congressional primaries

(WQOW) - Four candidates have qualified for the 7th Congressional District special election.

On the Republican side, Senator Tom Tiffany and retired Army Captain Jason Church reached the threshold of 1,000 signatures on the nomination forms.

Tiffany and Church will square off in a debate December 12 in Wausau.

The Democratic candidates are law professor Tricia Zunker and Lawrence Dale, a Vietnam veteran.

The primary is February 18 and the special election is May 12.

The winner will serve the remainder of Sean Duffy's term. He stepped down in September.
