‘Sexually violent person’ being released in Chippewa County Wednesday

Chippewa County (WQOW) – A man deemed a sexually violent person by the State of Wisconsin will be moving into Chippewa County later this week.

David Hager’s supervised released was approved in Chippewa County Court in early November.

Hager has been committed since 2008.

He was convicted in 1993 for sexually assaulting a teenage girl. In 1995, he was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault for assaulting two boys. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation.

The Department of Corrections is placing him at a home on Highway F in New Auburn.

As part of his release, Hager is ordered not to have unsupervised contact with minors, he cannot go to any schools, parks or daycares and he will be on GPS monitoring and the lifetime sex offender registration program.

He will be released on Wednesday.
