Eau Claire North boys hockey team donates $1300 to Feed My People

Eau Claire (WQOW) – The Eau Claire North boys hockey team has taken the season of giving to heart, by helping feed the community this holiday season.

On Friday the team presented a $1300 check to Feed My People Food Bank. That money will be used to create more than 5,000 meals for those in need.

The team raised the money themselves through a charity bike ride earlier in the year.

Team captain Joey Koller said it was a humbling experience, especially since some of the meals will go to the school’s food pantry.

“It’s really interesting and amazing because we get here and we realize some of the people we’re helping. We didn’t even know need help or how close we are to them in school and in our lives,” said Koller.

This is the sixth year that the team has donated to Feed My People Food Bank as a way to kick off the hockey and holiday season.
