Barron Co. standoff case suspect avoids time behind bars

Barron County (WQOW) – A Dunn County man involved in a police standoff was sentenced to probation.

James Donnerbauer was arrested after a three-hour standoff with police last May.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Office said he made death threats at the Dairy State Bank in Prairie Farm and later threatened to shoot officers after he barricaded himself inside his home.

Earlier this month, Donnerbauer pleaded guilty to trespassing, disorderly conduct and harassment as part of a plea deal.

Judge Maureen Boyle sentenced Donnerbauer to two years of probation. Other terms of the deal include maintaining absolute sobriety and not having any contact with Dairy State Bank.
