Turn out continues to grow at annual Turkey Trot in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A few thousand runners came together Thursday morning to burn off some calories, before they load up on Thanksgiving dinner.

This year marks the 12th annual Festival Foods Turkey Trot. Organizers said they estimate a few hundred more participants hit the streets this year, bringing in more than last year’s 3,149.

The event hosted a 5 and 2 mile race. Funds from Thursday’s race will go back into the community to organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA. Race Director Jamie Hoover said this is a fun event and makes for a great family tradition.
