Police investigating “specific threat” toward students and staff at Regis

UPDATE: Police now say a current Regis High School student made verbal statements regarding staff and student safety later in the week.

Regis staff immediately notified the police.

The student has been removed from campus.

Police will have a presence at Regis on Wednesday to ensure student and staff safety.

Students who would like counseling regarding this incident may request individual sessions with our school guidance staff. While the Regis Child Development Center shares the same building as our Regis campus, there was no specific threat to those children.

Eau Claire (WQOW) – The school day is going on as normal at the Regis campus, but a threat has police doing further investigations.

According to a memo sent to school families, officers from the Eau Claire Police Department are at Regis Middle/High School following reports of a “specific threat” toward students and staff there.

Regis Catholic Schools were made aware of the threat around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

“We are working closely with the Eau Claire Police Department to investigate and determine what actions are needed to ensure student and staff safety. At this time, the end of the school day is operating as normal and there are no concerns for student safety. The individuals involved in the incident have been accounted for,” said a Regis spokesperson.

Eau Claire police are further investigating the threat but say the threat made mention of a future date.
