Eau Claire (WQOW) — You can now apply to enroll your child in the Eau Claire Area School District’s virtual charter school (ECVS) for the 2020-2021 school year.
The virtual school program offers a digital learning environment, versus the standard classroom structure.
From now until 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020, families in the Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) can submit their applications for the program’s lottery system.
The virtual charter school was approved by the Eau Claire School Board in April, 2019, and welcomed with first students this fall, and it currently serves 28 children in grades six through 12.
The selection for the first phase of the lottery, available only to ECASD families, will take place February 10. If spots remain in ECVS after this first phase, the district will open the application to all families whose students attend public school in Wisconsin. The second-phase lottery would then take place May 11.
Online applications for ECVS are available HERE. Students and families may also visit the district enrollment office (at 500 Main Street in Eau Claire) to apply in person.
