Colfax (WQOW) – The man being treated for burns following a Sunday night house fire in Colfax, has died.
As we reported, Colfax fire officials were called to a home at the corner of Viking Drive and King Olaf Court Sunday night. When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Officials told News 18 Monday, two people were inside the home at the time. One was treated for smoke inhalation. The other was sent to a burn unit in the Twin Cities for his injuries.
That man, 23-year-old Samuel “Sam” Anthony Buckley died Tuesday.
According to his obituary, Buckley’s younger brother and a neighbor rushed into the burning home, found Sam and were able to bring him outside. That neighbor was also treated for smoke inhalation.
Funeral services for Buckley are planned for Saturday at the Colfax Lutheran Church at noon.

Colfax fire officials say the home at the corner of Viking Drive and King Olaf Court was engulfed when they arrived.
Officials told News 18, two people were inside at the time of the fire. One person was burned and sent to the hospital in the Cities. The other person in the home was treated for smoke inhalation as was a neighbor who came over to try and help.
Fire officials are still investigating what caused the fire to start. They believe the home is a total loss.
