Rice Lake officer rushed to hospital for fentanyl exposure

Rice Lake (WQOW) – A Rice Lake officer and his K-9 are at home resting Thursday after a scary situation for them on Wednesday night.

Rice Lake police say officer Josh Eckes and K-9 Cuff were involved in a heroin and fentanyl seizure on Wednesday night.

Officer Eckes had to be rushed by ambulance from the scene because he was exposed to the fentanyl.

They are both expected to be back to duty soon.
