Judges orders fine for man convicted of killing wolf in Burnett County

A northwestern Wisconsin man was sentenced Thursday for illegally killing a wolf.
Alfred Paulson, Spooner pleaded no contest to killing an endangered species.
Wardens say he shot a wolf that was caught in one of his fox traps in 2017 in Burnett County.
The wolf’s body was later found hidden under a tree.
Judge Melissia Mogen ordered him to pay more than $4172.50 in fines and fees, and revoked his hunting and fishing privileges for one year.
