2nd Eau Claire County Board member stepping down

Eau Claire (WQOW) – The Eau Claire County Board has a sudden opening after a long-time member announced she is stepping down.

Sue Miller is moving to a home outside of her district and will be resigning from the board on Friday.

Miller served on the board for 25 years over two different stints starting in 1991.

She told News 18 her greatest accomplishments in that time were helping build the downtown jail and promoting programs that serve as alternatives to incarceration.

The board will be responsible for filling her seat through the end of her term in April.

Application are due by the end of November. The winning application will be picked at the board’s December 17 meeting.

County officials went through the same thing last month selecting Zoe Roberts to fill the seat vacated by Brandon Buchanan.
