St. Croix County (WQOW) – A little buck is resting tonight after a long, scary day out on the ice. Thankfully, a passerby was willing to come to his rescue and push him off the frozen pond.

Annamarie Briggs took these pictures Monday of the deer on Lake Donovan in Star Prairie, which is in St. Croix County.

She said the deer was stuck on the ice and could not get up. That is when the stranger from Amery came by and pushed the deer all the way to shore.

Briggs said once the deer was off the ice it went about 10 yards before laying down in the grass. The DNR told her the young buck was likely tired from his excursion out on the frozen water.
