Dhimiters now selling products through Woodman’s

Eau Claire (WQOW) –  A local restaurant is expanding out of the Oakwood Mall and into its customers’ own kitchens, while also giving back to the community.

Dhimiters is now in partnership with Woodman’s Markets in Altoona.

The restaurant is selling its cucumber sauce and meats on the market’s shelves so customers can recreate Dhimiters’ gyros at home.

Along with broadening its outreach with its Greek cuisine, the restaurant owners said they hope the expansion can help them give back to the community through charitable donations.

Their business currently sets aside $8,000 to $10,000 a year to help out charities and community projects. The owners said that with the new partnership they plan to see that number grow.

“We were a business that started from scratch, so we weren’t a franchise,” said Vangjel Kapbardhi, business proprietor with Dhimiters. “So it was the community that kind of built us up. So in my aspect, we kind of have to give back to them, and that’s just the right thing to do.”

In the past, Dhimiters has given to local schools, clubs, Relay for Life and other fundraisers.
