Threat of snow serves as reminder to service your snowblower

Eau Claire (WQOW) – You may not want to start thinking about winter just yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start preparing. Experts say now is the time to have your snowblower serviced.

Mechanics at T&C Hometown Repair in Eau Claire said people have been dropping off snowblowers since the start of September, but they don’t expect to get really busy until the first snowfall of the season.

The shop manager stressed that it’s important to service your snowblower every year to make sure it runs. Otherwise, you could get caught without one when you need it most.

Don Racanelli, shop manager, at T&C Hometown Repair said, “A lot of people won’t try them out until that first snowfall, and then they come up here and go, ‘can you fix it as fast as possible?'”

Racanelli said the shop’s turnaround time is usually less than a week but suggests people don’t wait too long to bring them in, because parts may need to be ordered.
