Man accused of planning to rape, paralyze and kill woman pleads guilty to some charges

Trempealeau County (WQOW) – A second suspect accused in a plot to kidnap and kill a woman has pleaded guilty to some of the charges against him.

Ryan Gunderson and Chad Anderson were each charged in the case.

Court records show Gunderson taped a conversation with Anderson where they talked about plans to kidnap, rape, paralyze, torture and kill a woman.

Police say Anderson advised Gunderson to fill up a gun magazine with hollow points in case he needed to switch targets when police showed up.

This information came to light after Gunderson was shot by the Strum police chief after he pointed a gun at officers last October.

As part of a plea agreement, Gunderson pleaded guilty to five of the 14 charges against him – including pointing a firearm at an officer, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and stalking.

Based on the charges, Gunderson faces nearly 60 years in prison at his sentencing hearing in January.

Anderson agreed to a plea deal in the case last month. He will be sentenced in November.
