Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – Marching bands came from far and wide came to Chippewa Falls Saturday evening to participate in the 20th annual “Music Along the Chippewa” competition.

Both local high schools and bands came to perform their set lists at Chi-Hi.

This years big event had been in the works for months, with the students practicing just as long. They performed everything from Lizzo, to Les Miserables, to the Jackson Five.

Organizers said it was great to see the community come together to cheer on the students.

“We’ve had such support for a culture of music in Chippewa Falls,” said Kathy Zawacki, chairperson for the event. “The support from the school administration, students, staff and parents. The community really comes together to bring this whole event together. It’s absolutely amazing.”

The event concluded with a performance by UW-Eau Claire’s marching band.
