WQOW, Quincy Media telethon raises $40,000 for Farm Aid

(QUINCY MEDIA) – Quincy Media TV stations covering Wisconsin raised more than $40,000 in partnership with Farm Aid during an all-day telethon Friday, Sept. 20.

The telethon, held in conjunction with the annual Farm Aid Festival was a response to the ongoing crisis in farm country that is directly impacting family farmers in the upper Midwest, including Wisconsin.

Farmers can receive support and request assistance from Farm Aid HERE.

Quincy Media Television stations in Wisconsin (WQOW, WAOW, WXOW, WKOW and KBJR) and Farm Aid teamed up to host the live, 18-hour telethon to encourage viewers to donate money on-air and online to raise funds that provide support, emergency relief and other resources for family farmers in the region.

Donations are still being accepted HERE.

Anchors and reporters from all five television stations hosted the event with updates throughout the day live on-air and on Facebook.

The telethon was followed the next day by the Farm Aid Festival, held this year at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Southeast Wisconsin.

WKOW-TV’s Amber Noggle and Dani Maxwell were MCs of the sold-out event, where they introduced the acts throughout the day.

Farm Aid 2019 featured performances by members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Luke Combs, Margo Price, Jamey Johnson, Tanya Tucker, Brothers Osborne, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Yola, Particle Kid, Ian Mellencamp, Ho-Chunk Thundercloud Singers, and the Wisdom Indian Dancers.
