09/23: Interview – Hike for the Homeless

The 16th annual Hike for the Homeless benefits Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley Inc, which owns and operates the Beacon House Shelter in Eau Claire.

They provide families who are homeless with temporary shelter and help them find permanent homes and become financially independent. In 2018 They provided shelter and other services to 38 families with 72 children in our community.

The annual event helps provide Family Promise with the financial resources to provide these services. This event is one of two major fundraisers they hold annually; these are integral in our operations as government funding continues to be cut.

To register for the event, individuals can visit their website. Registration fees are $5 for children 11 and under, $15 for students 12 and up, $20 for adults, and $40.00 for families.
