Chippewa Valley officers use Packers trading cards to connect with community

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Local police departments hope the green and gold can help them better connect with the community.

24-7 and West Wisconsin Telecom donated decks of Packers trading cards to multiple law enforcement agencies across the Chippewa Valley including Eau Claire police. Officers will then hand them out to people in the community.

On the back of each card – crime prevention tips for families and officers to discuss.

“These are great because it is a way to connect with kids in our community and start that conversation and help with a positive interaction between police and our youth,” said officer Bridget Coit.

The set includes cards of 20 Packers players as well as coach Matt LaFleur. Coit said they are geared toward children, but anyone who is a Packers fan is welcome to pick up a pack.

The Green Bay Packers Crime Card Program started back in 1983.
