Tonight: Sack Hunger and Pack Hope hosted by The Community Table

Eau Claire (WQOW) – As adults, understanding food insecurity is simple.

For children, it’s not as easy to comprehend the fact that some of their classmates don’t go home to dinner each night.

That’s why The Community Table is hosting its Sack Hunger and Pack Hope event Tuesday night from 5 to 8 at Tangled Up In Hue.

Families will be able to decorate meal tote bags – one to donate and one to take home with them.

During the event, there will be a group conversation about what hunger is and how your kids can help.

According to Feeding America, the food insecurity rate for children in Eau Claire County was 15.2 percent in 2017.
