One person dead after crash in St. Croix County

ST. CROIX COUNTY (WQOW) – A car crash on Saturday afternoon resulted in one man dead, according to officials.

Around 3 p.m., the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a passerby that had noticed a vehicle down an embankment.

Upon arrival, they found a male that had been ejected from the car due to not wearing a seat belt.

The man, identified as Corey Allen Peterson, age 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Peterson was from Amery, WI.

This is the tenth traffic fatality recorded by St. Croix County in 2019.
