Playground donated to Hope Gospel’s new renewal center

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Workers are still remodeling Hope Gospel Mission’s new Renewal Center for Women and Children. Now, with the help of a grant from the Noon Rotary Club, it’s able to add a special place for kids.

With just the landscaping around the playground left to complete, the new addition is sure to bring a smile to any child’s face.

In this case, the chutes and ladders are for children whose mothers are struggling with addiction.

So, while mom is able to get the support and services she needs, her children will be able to spend a little extra time being a kid.

“Wonderful facility for the women and the children, but what are the kids gonna do? I mean we wanted a place where kids who have probably gone through some other trauma and stuff like that in their life, they have a place where they can come out here and have a good time and feel at home,” said Howard Ludwigson, president of the Noon Rotary.

A Wisconsin Rotary district will match the local rotary’s donation of $7,000 for a total of $14,000.

Ludwigson said in all its years of establishment, this is the first district grant the local rotary has received.
