Prison time ordered for Eau Claire man in child pornography case

Facebook first alerted authorities that Charles Fedie had shared a photo of child pornography in May 2018.  Fedie told police he downloaded the image and said it was possible he shared it on social media.

Monday, Eau Claire County Judge Jon Theisen sentenced Fedie to five years in prison followed by 15 years of extended supervision. The court ruled the extended supervision could be terminated after ten years if the agent determines it is appropriate.

In addition to his jail sentence, the judge also ordered that monitoring software be installed on any internet-capable device Fedie owns. Fedie is also ordered not to have contact with minors without prior approval.

Fedie also faces charges of 1st degree sexual assault of a child in two separate Buffalo County cases. All them are still pending.
