Lake Hallie (WQOW) — A cafe in Lake Hallie is for ‘sale’, for FREE, but there’s a catch.
Deb’s Cafe, just off Highway 53 and Melby Street is for sale, with all the fixtures, furniture and cooking equipment included.
The current owner has owned the restaurant for several years and is approaching retirement. She said this deal gives the next owner a head-start on opening a business.
“When you buy a business, you have to put everything in there to operate that business. You have tables and chairs and restaurant equipment, and that stuff can be very, very expensive,” said Chris Herzog, the realtor assisting in the sale of Deb’s. “By including that as part of this deal, she’s really removing major roadblocks for somebody to be able to start their own business.”
The 3818 square foot space itself may be free, but you do have to sign a five-year lease agreement, which comes with the price tag of $15 per square foot. That comes out to $57,270 per year. Over five years that equals $286,350.
The owner has wished to remain anonymous.
