UPDATE: Missing man with autism found safe

UPDATE

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – A missing and endangered man with autism has been found safe, after authorities resumed their search for 22-year-old Alex Twait Wednesday morning.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, Twait walked away from a group home in the area of Redwood Drive and Highway 93 in the town of Pleasant Valley around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Facebook page, authorities are actively searching for missing 22-year-old Alex Twait, who walked away from a group home in the area of Redwood Drive and Highway 93 in the town of Pleasant Valley around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Twait is autistic and non-verbal. Authorities say the public should avoid the area and do not need volunteers at this time.


Eau Claire County (WQOW) – The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing man who is autistic and non-verbal.

According to the sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Alex Twait walked away from a group home in the area of Redwood Drive and Highway 93 in the town of Pleasant Valley around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Twait is described as 5’6″, 126 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and grey shorts. He was not wearing any shoes. He was carrying an iPod that does not have any cellular service activated.

Deputies and K-9s are searching the area. If you see Twait you are asked to call the Eau Claire Communications Center at 715-839-4972.

Authorities say he is easily overwhelmed by people so do not approach him.
