Authorities identify man found dead at St. Croix County campground

St. Croix County (WQOW) –
Police have now identified the man they found dead at a St. Croix County state park earlier in the week.

It was on Tuesday, June 25, when authorities were called to Willow River State Park in the township of Hudson for a dead person at a campsite. 

The sheriff’s office has identified that person as Nathan David Greiner, 40, of Meeker County, Minnesota.

They say foul play has been ruled out, and the cause of death is pending toxicology results.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, they were called to Willow River State Park in the township of Hudson at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday for the report of a dead person at a campsite.

Officers found a dead 40-year-old outside a camper.

Now, they are working to figure out how he died.

The sheriff’s office said they do not believe the public is in any danger.

The man’s name is not being released until family is notified.
