According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, a Honda CR-V was south on Highway 37 when it hit a deer. The deer was thrown into the windshield of a semi traveling north on 37.
The semi went across the road and into a marsh on the side of the road.

The driver of the semi, Tony McCray, 37, of Whitehall was taken by ambulance to the hospital. A helicopter was requested but it could not fly because of weather conditions.
