Fact Facts: Lightning

Lightning is one of Mother Nature’s most awesome and scary phenomenons. A bolt of lightning is approximately 50,000 degrees, and it can strike 10 miles outside of a thunderstorm. Thunderstorms can be tracked, and their paths can be predicted. But, at this point in time, no one can predict when or where lightning will strike.

The National Weather Service has a plethora of severe weather safety information available (Click HERE), including lightning safety. Check out the video for more details!
