Chick-fil-A Madison owner says “focused on inclusion”

MADISON (WKOW) – The owner of a Madison Chick-fil-A restaurant says her business is focused on inclusion, after the Madison Mallards baseball team dropped a promotional agreement with Chick-fil-A in support of the LGBTQ community.

“I pride myself on building an experience focused on inclusion,” franchise operator of Chick-fil-A East Madison Monica Daniel includes in a statement to 27 News.

“My team represents many diverse viewpoints, backgrounds and beliefs and we work hard to provide a welcoming place for everyone,”  Daniel states.

Chick-fil-A corporate leaders formerly opposed same sex marriage and recent tax filings show the corporation’s foundation has funded anti-LGBTQ groups.

Representatives of the Mallards say the promotional partnership was struck recently with Chick-fil-A and would have included special deals on the restaurant’s meals for game attendees.
