No public opposition at Eau Claire City Council public hearing to replace Green Mill, Clarion Hotel

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Construction on a new hotel that would occupy the old Green Mill Restaurant and Clarion Hotel lot is just one vote away from reality.

As News 18 has reported, Craig Road, LLC wants to build a new four-story, 90 room hotel in the old restaurant’s place. They also plan to add another hotel and commercial building on the excess land, but what will occupy the space has yet to be determined.

The Eau Claire City Council held a public hearing on the plan on Monday. City Council President Terry Weld wasn’t surprised that there was no opposition.

“We’re rezoning it but not in a major way. Really just affecting setbacks so I think in that case it really didn’t bring out many concerns,” Weld said.

The city council will vote on this ordinance at its legislative meeting on Tuesday.
