Glenwood City police looking for bear that attacked dog

Glenwood City (WQOW) – Authorities are looking for a bear that attacked a dog outside a home in Glenwood City Sunday night.

Note: The images below are graphic.

Glenwood City police said they think the bear had cubs close by because it continued to attack the dog even after it ran to the deck of the home.

Police said the owner did shoot at the bear and believes he hit it at least once.

Police ask anyone who has seen the bear to call the Wisconsin Wildlife Service at 1-800-228-1368 so they can track its movements.

It is also recommended that you take in bird feeders and garbage cans until the bear is found.
