Stanley (WQOW) – The Stanley Fire Chief has been placed on paid administrative leave as the state investigates regulation compliance issues with the department.
According to notice from the City of Stanley, the fire department is out of compliance with regulations developed by the Wisconsin Office of Preparedness and Emergency Health Care, Division of Public Health and Department of Health Services.
While the state investigates that, Chief Ron Zais is on leave.
According to the city, “While that investigation is ongoing, in an effort to not prejudge whether the department is in, or is not in, compliance with state regulations, and if the latter, who is responsible, the city is placing Fire Chief Ron Zais on paid administrative leave. The city is not judging the situation; it is simply putting things on hold while these serious allegations are investigated.”
