UW-Stout Baseball Look To Rebound After Rough 2018

Eau Claire (WQOW) – It’s still early on in the season, but UW-Stout is off to a fast 5-2 start after winning only ten total games in 2018. But this group is carrying a chip on their shoulders.

They’re returning eight starting position players from last year, including Eau Claire Memorial grad and first-team all-conference senior outfielder Jordan Wilson.

“We seem to be a bunch of resilient guys that don’t give up.” says Wilson “You see that in our come from behind win at Blackburn the other day. A bunch of guys where there’s one common goal and everybody does their own job, and it seems to be clicking right now.”

The Blue Devils have depth and experience throughout their lineup and pitching staff and are ready to make some noise, and win more games this season.

“I think we’re going to be really scrappy,” says Head Coach Ben Kincaid. “We’re not going to have the most talent, but I think we’ve got a lot of heart, and we’re going to grind through some games and we’re going to win some games. I think we’re going to make some noise. I think a lot of teams are going to take us lightly and that’s great for us.”
