Barron County (WQOW) – The man accused of kidnapping Jayme Closs after killing her parents will return to court in Barron County on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
An arraignment is scheduled for Jake Patterson who is charged with shooting and killing James and Denise Closs and kidnapping their 13-year-old daughter Jayme from the family’s rural Barron home last October.
Nearly three months later, in early January, she escaped from captivity and Patterson was arrested.
Patterson has indicated to several reporters that he intends to plead guilty to the charges of murder, kidnapping and armed burglary. News 18 reached out to Patterson’s lawyer to see if that might happen but have not heard back.
If he does plead guilty Wednesday, the next step would be sentencing.
