Eau Claire (WQOW) – As the world reels from the tragic event overnight in New Zealand, some right here in our community are coming together to show their support.
“It was his intent to send a message that there is no safe place in the world anymore,” said Susan Wolfgram, co-president of Temple Sholom. “So, our message from Temple Sholom is that we stand together and that we are better when we are together.”
Friday night, Temple Sholom in Eau Claire is holding a demonstration of solidarity. It begins at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all.
News 18 spoke with a member of the Altoona Masjid who said the Muslim community here in the Chippewa Valley appreciates the outpouring of support and love.
They stressed it is important to remember not to be divided, rather to repel evil with good and to treat everyone kindly.
