Protesters rally during Pence’s visit

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Before Vice President Mike Pence touched down, protesters gathered outside Precision Pipeline holding signs and making their opinions heard.

Their messages were not meant for the vice president, rather for Governor Scott Walker.

Only a handful of Democrats rallied outside Precision Pipeline when Pence arrived around 3:40 p.m. They carried signs reading, “Walker has screwed us enough” and “Healthcare is a human right.”

“I believe every American deserves health insurance,” said Bob Andruszkiewicz. “I would not be here if I did not have health insurance. Health insurance for everyone is not socialism. Insurance by its nature is socialism.”

“I am not a Walker fan,” added Robert Matthews. “I’m for Obama’s Affordable Care Act. He’s obviously not. He is a Trump supporter and I’m not.”

News 18 tried speaking with supporters of Walker and Pence but they were bused away privately.
