Chippewa winery raises money for suicide prevention

Autumn Harvest Winery near Chippewa Falls kicked off its annual Fall Fest Saturday, all to benefit local suicide prevention programs.

A warm, sunny day brought dozens of people out to the winery to enjoy a petting zoo, face painting, a corn maze, food trucks and beverages.

Visitors were encouraged to donate to suicide prevention.

“Every year we choose an organization to give back to the community,” said co-owner Jean McIlquham.  “This year on Saturday will be Suicide Prevention Chippewa Valley and that’s an organization that has been around for a while but maybe not enough recognition as they deserve so far.  So we’re hoping to get their name out there. Largely they’ve touched a lot of lives around here so we want to give back to them.”

The winery will match donations from this weekend.

Sunday’s donations will go to Agnes’ Table.
