Fourth of July: Warm and humid with showers, t-storms part of the day

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Thunderstorms on the 4th of July could produce gusty winds and torrential rain.

Happy 4th of July! Matt, Justin, and I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday. It will be very warm and humid, and showers and thunderstorms could impact some of your events too.

Expect a mostly sunny or partly cloudy sky in the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 80s. With the high humidity, it may feel like the lower 90s in some locations. If you plan on going to a parade or community gathering, take water with you and find a shady spot.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening, fueled by the heat and humidity in our region. While the threat of severe weather is significant, the thunderstorms will be capable of producing torrential rain and gusty winds. Some locations could pick up a quick inch or more of rain, which may cause localized flooding. Keep an eye on the sky and the WQOW weather app for the latest!

The weather appears more favorable for fireworks! Let’s hope the outlook verifies. Around 10 p.m., the sky will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the eastern part of Wisconsin will deal with more shower and thunderstorm activity. Overnight, isolated showers and thunderstorms could remain.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely. Like the 4th, some thunderstorms could produce gusty winds and torrential rain. This weekend will be less humid. Saturday will be partly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs will be near 80. Sunday will be mostly sunny and comfortable with highs in the upper 70s. It will be warmer next week, and more humid too, with scattered showers and thunderstorms midweek.
