Special Weather Statement issued August 5 at 5:57AM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI

At 550 AM, radar indicated a line thunderstorms from near
Rochester Minnesota to Charles City Iowa, moving east at about 40
mph. By 7 am the leading edge of these storms is expected to be
near an Independence Wisconsin to Caledonia Minnesota to Decorah
and Oelwein Iowa line.

The stronger of these storms could produce hail up to 1/2 inch
diameter and wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph along with brief heavy
downpours.

The thunderstorms should affect a location for about an hour or
so before moving east. When storms approach, seek shelter indoors
until they pass.
