WBCA Announces All-State Teams For Boys Basketball

(WQOW) — The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the all-state teams for high school boys basketball on Monday, and four area athletes made the list.

In division one, Eau Claire North’s Dalton Banks was selected on the first-team. The junior was the Big Rivers Conference player of the year this past season, averaging 23.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 2.6 steals per game.

In division four, Osseo-Fairchild senior Logan Mulhern and Clear Lake senior Bailey Blanchard were both named to the first-team. Mulhern led the Thunder to the state semifinals for the first time in 27 years. The Cloverbelt-West conference player of the year averaged 26.8 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game this season. While Blanchard helped the Warriors reach the sectional championship game. The senior averaged 20.6 points per game this season, finishing with 1,715 career points.

In division five, McDonell Central’s Cory Hoglund was named as a first-team selection. Hoglund was part of four state tournament teams for the Macks, including winning a state championship his freshman year. The senior averaged 17 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game this season for McDonell Central, who fell in the state semifinals to the eventual champs Sheboygan Area Lutheran.
