Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- Thursday the McDonell Central boys basketball team traveled to Madison for state for the fourth year in a row.

The school gave them a send-off fit for champions. The entire school showed their support with a pep rally Thursday morning.

While this may be the fourth year the team has made it to state, it’s the first year for head coach Adam Schilling.

Schilling said they’ve had a lot of fan support and it’s helped them get through tough spots.

“Well our players have quite a bit of experience being down at the state tournament and through all of the playoffs, so that’s helped me just kind of know how we prepare for those games, what’s worked for them in the past,” Schilling said. “I guess for me I think they’ve been able to, I guess, just keep their confidence and stick together. That’s one thing we’ve been preaching all year just to make sure we play well as a team.”

The Osseo-Fairchild boys basketball team also made it to state.

The last time they made it this far was in 1992.
