College Sports – Friday

Greensboro, North Carolina; Stillwater, Oklahoma (WQOW) — Eau Claire native and UW-Eau Claire senior Ryan Isaacson wraps up his college career at the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship, while Altoona product and Wisconsin senior Gabby Curtis tees off in her first-ever NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship. Isaacson turns in a final round 78, and winds up in a tie for 29th place individually at +7.  He was tied for second after shooting a first round 69, but fell back on the leaderboard after a second round 75, and a third round 73.   Isaacson does earn PING First-Team All-American honors. Brian Peccie of Washington & Lee and Logan Young of Concordia (TX) both tie for first at -3, but Peccie wins a 3-hole playoff to take the national title.For the Division III men’s individual leaderboard, click hereCurtis gets off to a great start in her first trip to nationals.  She begins on the back nine, and records nine straight pars.   It’s a different story on the front nine, as Curtis winds up with three bogeys and three double bogeys.  Her first round score of 80 (+8) leaves her in a tie for 97th place. For the Division I women’s individual leaderboard, click here
